Ilse van de Kasteelen was born on April 10th, 1957.
Musical Education
In 1984 she received her diploma solo voice from the Hilversums Conservatorium, where she studied with Maria Süchel. She continued her studies thereafter with Herman Woltman.
Activities
She made her debuut as soprano in 1982. Since then she performs regularly internationally and in varying genres. In 1987 she made her opera debut as componist and realized the leading roll in Passion van Taller Amsterdam in the opera production Progress. Since 1982 Ilse van de Kasteelen is affiliated as solist and composer with Taller Amsterdam.
Compositions
In 1983 she composed parts for the production of The desert and 1984 for The Night of the Third Day. On both of these productions she also performed as solist. In 1987 she was one of the composers of Progress passion, the first operatic production by Taller, performed by the Nederlands Blazersensemble, het Nederlands Kamerkoor en solo singers o.l.v. Lucas Vis. In 1992 she composed the chamber opera Los heraldos.
