Bart de Kemp was born on July 7, 1959. He died on April 8, 2005.
Education
He studied composition at the Rotterdam Conservatory of Music with Peter-Jan Wagemans and Klaas de Vries, graduating in 1991. He also took part in several workshops, with Enrique Raxach, Manfred Niehaus, Mark Foster, Michael Finnissy and Nigel Osborne.
Compositions
He has composed works for orchestra, such as Putti (1991), first performance during the Dutch Music Days 1991 in Utrecht, and Between nightbar and factory (1994), in 1996 performed by the Netherlands Ballet Orchestra, and chamber music, such as (string) quartets, trios, duos and for solo instruments. Several works of Bart de Kemp were performed abroad, recorded and subsequently broadcasted.
Compact Discs
Lieto for 4 recorders (Channel Classics CCS 8996), Labas for 2 trumpets (SKVR-150, Ascolta) and Con Tinto for clarinet, violin and piano (OMC B 002) have been released on cd.
